about

The latest in the Cities and Memory "sounds of the year" album series, presenting the finest field recordings recomposed into new pieces by artists around the world.

Travelling across the world from Argentina and Ecuador to China and the UAE, these twelve reimagined places, creating a reimagined sound world using field recordings as source material.

Each is a reimagined, remixed version of a field recording - in each case, the location of the original field recording is in brackets after the piece title.

The source field recordings for each track are also included as bonus tracks with the album so you can explore both sound worlds.
