Berlin bell swing reimagine by Keira Simmons.

"Divulsion: An endlessly slow, graceful, painful, violent tearing apart, a breaking down of understanding. This piece is a condensed version of a live set I performed recently.

"I was interested in creating for the listener a painful stillness, an inability to move or look away from something equally horrifying and beautiful, like many things in our world today (things both small and big, personal and public).

"Using PaulXStretch and my handmade granular patch I froze the church bells in time, and using my broken record player I captured a deep, violent drone and a stuck song.

"It’s rare in my Cities and Memory reimaginings that I include the original audio recording in its entirety, but these bells were so haunting and relentless, and gave a deep sense of inevitability."
