Giovanna Iorio - Born, never asked (Kyoto)

from Sounds from Japan by Cities and Memory

about

11 Feb, 17:04
Kurama Dera temple reimagined by Giovanna Iorio.

"The sound we produce when we pray is mysterious. Words disappear and we become the sound we produce. We try to connect to the ONE who created us, with one big question in mind...

"I discovered a very interesting piece of music on UbuWeb by Laurie Anderson, called "Born, never asked" and I felt it could be an interesting combination. After all, we pray sometimes because we never asked to be born."
