Pascale Mons - From silence to sounds (France)

from #StayHomeSounds (volume 2) by Cities and Memory

/

about

"Friday, April 3, in the 20th arrondissement of Paris, just before 8pm.

I'm listening to the sound of the neighborhood through the open window. It's a very quiet sound like I rarely had the chance to hear at this place and time of the day.

"After a while, seagulls, these birds from the sea which have elected place in Paris for a few years now, begin to sing, flying in round circles as if they were giving us the signal : a faint applause comes from far away, growing up and getting closer until each one of us participates, clapping and making noise for people who takes care of others during the confinment.

"At the end, when everybody stops, it sounds like the neighborhood has woken up, being reconnected again with the every day usual sounds."
