Amanda Stuart - Luminescence (Costa Rica)

from Music for Sleep by Cities and Memory

about

I chose the sound recorded by Marcel Gnauk at Hermosa Beach - Jaco, as I love the sound of the ocean and by chance my son had recently visited Costa Rica. After experimenting, I decided to keep the beautiful sound of the sea just as it was with a little reverb added. I then created a sound that I felt would be like light shimmering on the water and improvised the whole track in one take whilst imagining lying on the beach at sunset, the moon rising and phosphorescence dancing on the ocean, feeling safe, relaxed and drifting away into a glorious sleep.
