Tales from Little Fuzhou (New York)

from Sounds from the USA by Cities and Memory

about

English lesson machine in Chinatown, New York reimagined by Cities and Memory. "There was something oddly dehumanised about the recorded voice drifting in and out of the very human, very social context of a Chinatown street, achieving a distancing effect that the reimagined piece brings out. This is Chinatown as experienced in an alternative world, perhaps the socially-distanced, problematic world of 2020."
